Love Moves (Students)

Love Moves

Love Moves. We believe God loves us so much that he did something about it-he sent his son Jesus Christ to die on a cross. As disciples of God, we’re instructed to have that same attitude of love. In fact, the Bible says that if we love one another, all people will know that we’re God-followers.

The goal of Love Moves is for students to learn what it means to “be the church” and to put that love into action. And we believe there is no greater way to do that than by serving.

Within the Church. Students have opportunities to invest their volunteer time in the lives of younger kids on a weekly basis in Waumba Land (birth-preschool), UpStreet and KidStuf (kindergarten-5th grade), and Xtreme (6th-8th grade). If you are a high school student and want to get involved in one of these areas, click on the link below and fill out the information. A staff member from that ministry area will contact you. He or she will be able to answer any questions you have and get you plugged in so you can serve each Sunday!

Love Moves-Within the Church

Within the Community. Love Moves shifts into the community, where students have chances throughout the year to serve their community with their small groups as God’s love is communicated to people in need.

Within the World. Each summer we send teams of students and small group leaders all over the world on mission trips. Students must sign up through globalX, our missions department. Each campus sponsors several trips each summer, and we ask that you sign up for a trip with the campus you attend. When looking through the available trips, be sure to look at the trips for “High School Students.”

We use several criteria when selecting the team members for each trip. The North Point Ministries model is based upon small groups and a student’s involvement in a small group is used as our most important standard when deciding on all team members. The following are in order of importance and are non-negotiable:

  • Are you in a small group at InsideOut?
  • Did more than one student from your small group apply for the trip?
  • Did your small group leader apply to lead the trip?
  • Do you attend InsideOut at the campus sponsoring the trip?
  • At the time of the trip, will you be one of the following (in order of priority): a graduating senior, a rising senior, or a rising junior?

There are other factors that come into play when choosing those who will be part of each team, but these are the standards for every applicant.

All trips take place in July, and applications are accepted from November-January. The leader of the trip you have applied for will contact you regarding your application status. For more information or to apply for a trip, go to www.goglobalx.org/trips.
